UWr Countertop
(Land - 22)
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Island
2 Plains
3 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
1 Karakas
1 Academy Ruins
(0cc - 1)
1 Engineered Explosives
(1cc - 14)
4 Brainstorm
2 Spell Snare
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Swords to Plowshares
(2cc - 12)
4 Counterbalance
4 Predict
2 Counterspell
2 Memory Lapse
(3cc - 3)
3 Firespout
(4cc - 4)
3 Jace
1 Elspeth
(5cc - 4)
4 Force of Will
--(Sideboard)--
3 Engineered Explosives
2 Path to Exile
2 Spell Pierce
4 Pyroblast
3 Relic of Progenitus
1 Tormod's Crypt
I may or may not put factories in here. If I decide, after testing, that they are good, then Ajani will get the boot for humility and Cliques will get the boot for another land and another lapse/counterspell
The sideboard is very much geared for intense merfolk meta. Counterspells, Counterbalance and a Top go for +3 EE, +2 Path, +4 Pyro. All the removal should help you gain ground. Bringing in EE for the mirror is also plausible, esp if they run Goyfs.

Re: [DTB] Countertop
I like your predicts with tops and brainstorms. Now that Survival is gone it looks like Countertop maybe relevant again.

Re: [DTB] Countertop
Memory lapse doesnt seem good in this kind of deck u need to be tempo for it to be good and you are defintly control, so it should be counterspell or somthing else, also personaly i have never been a big fan of predict i think its too cute maybe a couple but 4 seems too much, i like the planes walkers though maybe another explosives that cards is the nuts

Re: [DTB] Countertop
I'm experimenting with different things, trying to find something that's unique and interesting while still highly functional.
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Academy Ruins
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Flooded Strand
2 Volcanic Island
3 Tundra
3 Island
1 Mountain
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Pithing Needle
1 Cursed Scroll
2 Grim Lavamancer
4 Brainstorm
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Counterbalance
2 Memory Lapse
1 Counterspell
4 Predict
3 Trinket Mage
1 Crucible of Worlds
3 Jace
4 Force
Maybe this will work, maybe it's junk. I have to rely on Jace for dealing with big creatures, which can be a problem, but lavamancer hands down beats any weenie strategy, as does active cursed scroll. If I ever get both working at the same time, I think I just start doming that person. If scroll doesn't work, I'll probably replace it with MD relic or crypt.
I play Lapse because it has synergy with Predict and it also works with Jace. Granted, CS is better in the previous build I posted, but in this build, Lapse is slightly better than CS because I can cast it off of a factory.
Bah, never mind that shit. here's the real list:

Re: [DTB] Countertop
Why don't u just play standstill instead of predict honestly I think ur getting too tricky with predict and lapse just play standstill, cus lapse isn't that good by its self and honestly neither is predict u have good cards wit standstill in the deck already, I like factories though they are the shit

Re: [DTB] Countertop
I'll test it. But generally, you need wasteland and mishra's to support Standstill and standstill is also horrible vs Merfolk, one of the most common decks in our meta. You also can't forget about the fact that Predict is instant speed and it hoses topdeck tutors. I don't think you give the card enough credit.
Also, lapse by itself is still timewalk. Sometimes one turn is all you need to set up CB top or to get the right CC on top of your library or dig up swords. The Tempo gain can be pretty huge.
